Aerith’s Theme ~ Piano Cover | Final Fantasy VII (“Aeris Lives”, Arr. by Kevin Lau)

About this cover
This is my ANOTHER take on the Aerith’s Theme – “Aeris Lives”, Arranged by Kevin Lau – originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu for Final Fantasy VII. As I upgraded some of my gear, I just wanted to record this song again (from above) and do “Synthesia” -like video of this great theme. Hope you enjoy this!
Aeris vs. Aerith?
Aerith’s original Japanese name is エアリス Earisu, pronounced [eaɾisɯ]. This was transliterated to “Aeris” in Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Tactics, but in later products has been changed to “Aerith”. Both transliterations have basis, as the Japanese “su” (ス) is used when transcribing “s” (/s/) and “th” (/θ/) to Japanese. However, official Japanese material uses the spelling “Aerith”, and developers have stated that “Aerith” is a near-anagram of “Earth”. Prior to the game’s release, Western gaming magazines, such as the May 1996 issue of Computer and Video Games, also referred to her as “Aerith”.
A big thanks for watching and if you share and like this video!
